ROCESTER, England – On Saturday, Joaquin Niemann dominated LIV Golf UK with a stellar performance. The captain of Torque GC fired an impressive 8-under 63, creating a substantial 6-shot lead. Currently sitting at 14-under after two rounds, Niemann shot a remarkable 30 on the front nine, marking the lowest front nine score recorded at JCB Country Club across five rounds of LIV Golf events. His 63 was the best score of the day. The Chilean golfer is aiming to clinch his fifth LIV Golf tournament of the season and his seventh overall, setting the stage for potential LIV Golf records.

Niemann’s outstanding play, bolstered by Carlos Ortiz’s rounds of 66 and 70, propelled Torque GC to the top of the team standings. Sebastian Munoz also performed excellently, matching Niemann with a 5-under 66. Mito Pereira shot a 1-over 72 following an even par 71 in Round 1. Torque is in pursuit of their first win since LIV Golf Greenbrier in 2023.

Holding a three-stroke lead over Legion XIII, who aim for their second consecutive victory and fourth of the season, Torque GC is in a strong position. The home team, Majesticks GC, now sits ninth in the team standings, hoping to secure their first podium finish since 2022.
